According to Katulye assistant chief Martin Sikuku, the rider hit a stalled tractor that was being repaired along the manga-Katulye road.

He said the victim was rescued by eyewitnesses who rushed him to Masinga Level Three Hospital for treatment.

"The tractor had mechanical problems and was being repaired when the bodaboda operator hit it. He sustained serious injuries and died on the way to Masinga Level Three Hospital for treatment," said Sikuku on phone.

The chief urged bodaboda operators to be careful while on the road and adhere to traffic rules.

He said most of them avoided using reflector jackets and helmets putting their lives at risk.

"The victim had sustained serious head injuries, maybe if he had worn a helmet, maybe he would have survived the accident also he was overspeeding thus unable to control," He said.

He urged them to ensure that they go for the necessary training to acquire skills and information about roads.

He also urged road users whose vehicles may have developed mechanical problems to ensure they place the required signs on the road to guide oncoming motorists.
