Laikipia Senator John Kinyua now claims that Deputy President William Ruto's problems are being engineered by one of the top politicians in the nation.

Ruto has been on the receiving end lately, his latest blow coming on Tuesday when President Uhuru Kenyatta picked Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi as the chief CS.

Uhuru named the CS as the person in charge of supervising government development projects.

Until Tuesday, the DP had been crisscrossing the nation under the excuse of doing the same, but now seems to have been paralyzed by the move.

According to Kinyua, the same and Ruto's many other problems can be traced back to opposition leader Raila Odinga and his March 9 truce with Uhuru.

He said that Raila seems to be convincing Uhuru to turn against his deputy as has also been alleged by some forces surrounding the DP.

"This can be traced back to the handshake and Raila seems to be doing everything to disrupt the unity and is apparently succeeding.

However, Uhuru should resist the urge and remember that its Ruto who stood by him when he needed the votes while Raika was on the opposite side," he said.

The Senator was speaking in an interview on Radio Citizen's Mjadala Wa Citizen on Wednesday morning.

He cautioned that if not dealt with as early as now, the former Prime Minister might finally succeed in bringing the ruling Jubilee Party to its knees.

This he based on Raila's history and previous political movements.

"This is the man who entered into KANU and destroyed it in 2002. He even threw out longtime KANU loyalists like Joseph Kamotho. He could do the same to Jubilee," he added.

Since their truce, Ruto's allies have been claiming that the DP is growing more and more distant to Uhuru, all the blame landing on Raila.

However, Rails has repeatedly maintained that he remains the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader and is not interested in chasing Ruto from the party.
