Deputy President William Ruto is an insincere politician, African Union High Representative on Infrastructure Development Raila Amolo Odinga has said.
Speaking in Wajir Town during a fundraiser on Saturday, Raila said that it is unfortunate for the second in command to come in public and declare that the government has no information about anyone who has died because of hunger.
“It is shameful for a leader to deny the truth when people are saying that they are dying of hunger. Such a leader is an enemy of the people,” Mr Odinga said, as Daily Nation quoted him.
The Former Prime Minister also warned leaders against politicizing the war against graft. He said that the nation has lost billions through corrupt dealings.
He further noted that the war against the vice will only be achieved if all leaders work together.
The Luo political kingpin lamented that there are leaders whose main aim is derailing development before President Uhuru Kenyatta completes his second and final term in office.
Ruto and Raila have been firing at each over the alleged loss Sh.21 billion in dam’s project.
Raila had been accompanied Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Suna East MP Junet.
