Already, Imran, brother to immediate area former MP Ken Okoth, has secured the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket ahead of the November 7 mini poll.

However, former Makadara MP Bernard Mutura has warned the party against having too much confidence in him, saying that he could only be in the party to win the seat.

Speaking on Saturday, he claimed that just like the other members who have ended up rebelling, Imran seems like a man who can easily be poached by the ruling Jubilee Party.

"ODM should cease considering Imran theirs, this man will cause trouble ahead. His stand is unknown, he is a handshake candidate not ODM (ODM waache kusema eti Imran ni wao, huyu atawasumbua sana. Hajulikani ako pande gani. Huyu ni wa handshake, sio ODM)," he said.

He made the remarks on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Saturday morning.

However, the Jubilee Party member said that even in that case, Imran will still have it hard cruising past Jubilee's McDonald Mariga in the much-awaited contest.

"Good thing is that he won't win the seat, the people will elect Mariga (Uzuri ni eti hatapata hiyo kiti, watu watachagua Mariga)," he added.

Imran who served closely under Ken before his death in July managed to beat among others, Christon Odhiambo and Benson Musungu in the nomination, amid claims of cheating.
