In a tweet on Thursday, the lawyer said the campaigns were a reflection of the worst in Kenya, citing bribery, deception of the candidates and the deployment of state resources.

''Political campaigns in Kibra constituency is a reflection of the worst in Kenya: 1. Campaigns are targeting tribes. 2. Voters are openly bribed. 3. Voters are lied to that government development is tied to political choices.4. State resources are used. We never learn nor change," he tweeted.

Campaigns in the constituency are in top gear as the candidates traverse its breadth and length in a bid to sell their policies to the voters.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is highly tipped to recapture the seat as Kibra is widely regarded as the party's turf.

Governing Jubilee party's candidate former Harambee Stars forward McDonald Mariga and Amani National Congress (ANC) candidate Eliud Owalo are seen as strong candidates with the potential of pulling an upset against the ODM party candidate Imran Okoth.

The seat was declared vacant after the death of former Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth who succumbed to cancer in July.
