The cafe which is located in Usubeey area of Rhamu in Wajir is a local eatery where locals hookup for their evening clan 'gossip' while discussing politics, religion, and morality.

The Dusit cafe is a busy place.

However, what is causing a lot of talk on social media is whether the cafe had the name prior to the Dusit attack.

A number of netizens have argued that the name of the cafe was re-branded to 'glorify' the terrorist incident.

But reports from the locals indicate the 'Dusit' name was there since the building was established by the real owner who has since been identified as Osman Shurie.

The heated social media debate on the choice of the cafe's name follows allegations that the Islamic religion was promoting terrorism, a thing that has compelled a number of Muslim clerics and other Islamic followers to issue statements faulting the 'misguided' notion.

Among the many Muslim followers who have condemned the branding of Somalis and Muslims as being terrorists include lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi and Wajir Women rep Fatuma Gedi.
