It is alleged that the four suspects stormed Zachary Angwenyi's homestead in Miriri Location, Masaba North in Nyamira County armed with pangas and other crude weapons which they used to attack him.

Miriri Location chief Naftal Ongaki confirmed the arrest of the four men whose identify could not be revealed.

The chief noted that the suspects were apprehended in Kegogi village where they had gone to hide after the attack.

"The suspects descended on Angwenyi claiming that he has been reporting them for engaging in illicit brew businesses. They beat the victim before they escaped," said the chief.

Mr Ongaki warned locals against issuing threats to Nyumba Kumi officials who are at the front line in the fight against illicit brew.

Keroka OCPD Walter Apondo confirmed that the victim is out of danger and he is currently being treated at a Keroka hospital.

"The suspects are in lawful custody in Keroka police station. Once the victim is discharged from hospital, he will record a statement with police before the suspects can be charged in a court of law," said the OCPD.
