Education CS Prof. George Magoha was on Friday 12,issued with a 30 days ultimatum by DP Ruto to come up with a framework of harnessing talents among Students for nurturing for economic benefit.
Speaking at Kibabii University during the Drama State Concert, the Deputy President said, together with President Uhuru Kenyatta, they know the potential of Prof.Magoha hence should execute the mandate.
"To consolidate all the efforts, I am now asking Prof. Magoha, I know your capacity and I know if you don't do it, it is not because you don't have the capacity but because you would have refused to do it,
"To mobilize all the stakeholders in this industry (drama and theatre) including your colleague Joe Mucheru so that in 30 days we consolidate all our efforts and have a concrete plan on how to turn these talents into opportunities and jobs for our young people and also business for our entertainment industry," Ruto said.
The country's second in command reiterated that the government is focused and all the relevant stakeholders should join hands and ensure the creative talents are turned to the business ventures.
The DP who represented President Kenyatta at the concert said talents should be put into opportunities for enterprise to the country.
This year's festivals were staged for the first time at Kibabii University making it the first higher learning institution to host such an event.
The title sponsors were KFCB with the theme, 'Promoting moral responsibility among the youths through film and theatre'.
