KANU youth leader Kipchumba Rono on Wednesday said the President was in Kabarak, although he did not give finer details on the supposed journey.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta is currently at Kabarak kwa Mzee," wrote Mr Rono, a close ally of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

Mr Rono has been releasing details of meetings in Kabarak, with the most recent being on Sunday when a host of Rift Valley leaders met at Gideon Moi's home.

The President is expected at State House Nakuru where he will grace the 93rd Kenya Music Festivals gala. The competitions ended on Tuesday at Kabarak University.

According to Ruth Agesa, the executive secretary of the Kenya Music Festival, the fete will feature the best teams from the 10-day event, which ended at Kabarak University on Tuesday.

Speaking at the Kabarak auditorium where the creme de la creme performed for dignitaries, Ms Agesa said high standard performances were displayed by primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities.

“The performances were of very high quality. I’m impressed by what has been happening here in the past 10 days,” she said.

Although Uhuru's trips to Kabarak are synonymous, politicians have often questioned them, some claiming that succession debate is part of the agenda.

State House is yet to release any statement over the supposed visit. DP William Ruto is yet to visit Kabarak, a year after he was turned away.
