Ruto was early last week left humiliated after area leaders snubbed his tour of Migori and Homa Bay counties.

But speaking during a fundraiser in Fort Ternan, Kericho County on Sunday, led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen, the leaders accused Raila of engineering the snub.

He accused the former Prime Minister of holding grudges against the DP, urging him to shelve the same and embrace the leader.

"Raila talks of having embraced democracy and peace yet he bars leaders, especially from Kisumu, Siaya and Migori, from attending Ruto’s development tours," he is quoted by the Standard.

"We ask him to be a statesman and allow ODM leaders to interact with Ruto and everyone else,” added the senator who was accompanied by area lawmaker Hillary Kosgei and Kericho Senator Aaron Cheruiyot.

Ruto who began his tour in Homa Bay on Sunday was snubbed by all area lawmakers before the same was witnessed in Migori where only two of the eight lawmakers joined him.

However, Migori Governor Okoth Obado was present to welcome him into the county before the two proceeded for public addresses in the region.

Only Kuria East and West lawmakers Marwa Kitayama and Mahias Robi and Karachuonyo parliamentarian Adipo Okuome from Homa Bay were present.

Raila is yet to speak on the same.
