In the recent past, Uhuru has come under fire from a section of Kenyans, with some accusing him of too much rhetoric on the fight against corruption. Uhuru has often fired salvos but no major prosecution has taken place.

“If you are corrupt we will fight you. You can be my brother or my sister or my closest political ally, but if you are corrupt we will fight you,” the President told Kenyans living in the southern African nation.

Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga have lately been attacking each other, a move that has left Mr Kuria worried over Uhuru's grip in government.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Kuria seemingly questioned Uhuru's commitment in restoring order, adding that only his presidency will now save the country from the ongoing fist fight amongst politicians.

"Who accidentally left the asylum door open ? Team Kamanda is amok. Orengo on behalf of Mr Odinga is talking impeachment. The DP’s allies are returning fire for fire. Only my Presidency will return sanity to this beloved nation," wrote Kuria.

Late last year, Kuria was drawn to political onslaught when he reportedly faulted government's commitment in Mt Kenya, where he insisted that the region had been neglected.

And in recent weeks, the second term MP has intensified campaigns to take over from Uhuru, who is set to retire in 2022. Despite claims of fallout, Kuria has often insisted that he's in good terms with the president.
