In Kenya, the lowest paid politician as per the constitution is the Member of the County Assembly (MCAs) who take home 165, 000 shillings in salary, Sh.84, 875 in meeting allowances among others.

Sh2 million car loan, Sh3 million house mortgage and mileage allowances are also involved.

The highest paid on the other hand is the President who earns Sh1.65 million a month in basic salary, exclusive of allowances.

On the others hand, according to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) the Deputy President takes home 1. 4 million shillings exclusive of allowances.

This is also exclusive of other privileges like security, diplomatic and luxurious international travels and Very Very Important Person (VVIP) treatment wherever they go.
