On the other hand, those who disapprove the above notion say that money is not everything as its presence can't even guarantee you happiness!

Whichever side of the divide you stand on, we can all agree that money or lack of it, affects us in one way or another and even how we carry ourselves in our day-to-day lives.

A case in point to better expound on this point, is how casual workers at various establishments in Thika behave while they are loaded and when they are as 'broke as a church rodent'.

While this article is not about demeaning these important people in our society, we focus on them because some just exhibit interesting traits.

Here are a few

1. Generosity

As it is often said, generosity is a virtue and not a sign of wealth or riches.

Many who actually engage in charitable works and do it from the depth of their hearts, are the modest people. Majority of the rich do it for showbiz or when expecting some particular favours from those that they help.

Similarly, some casual workers while loaded are just generous that you can hardly fail to realize it. While in a bar for instance, these guys will spend as much as possible sometimes to their own disadvantage.

2. Change of demeanor

While change of character upon getting money isn't unique to this caliber of workers, some of these guys and their ilk just annoyingly go overboard.

You will for example, find a guy who is usually reclusive and contained suddenly become noisy, proud or dismissive of others courtesy of the warmth of the money in his pocket. It is a case of 'maskini akipata hulia bwata'.

3. Reckless behaviours

There are those who turn to binge drinking and sex workers. But as soon as the money-powered temperatures cool down, they resume to their normal selves and old habits.
