Speaking on Saturday, the political commentator stated that if the two can only beat Ruto if they win with a big margin in the race.

Failure to this, he warned, they might end up in a situation where the DP rejects the results.

"They must make sure that when they meet William Ruto, if they don't manage to convince him to join their side before the elections, they will have to beat him convincingly. Ruto is not Raila, you will not take Ruto's victory, you will not snatch it from him," he said on his Take It or Leave It YouTube channel.

He also advised the duo to be extra careful with their Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) push, an initiative they founded after their March 2018 handshake.

Raila has stated that the BBI taskforce report, which is not yet out, will propose a referendum to make some major governance changes.

Manyora said that this will be the test between the two sides, warning that if they are intending to remain together, then they must push it against the DP whose allies have questioned it.

"They must ensure that BBI goes through because if William Ruto manages to scuttle BBI then 2022 will be a nightmare for Raila and Uhuru," he added.

While Raila and Uhuru have termed the BBI the usolution for the political exclusion in Kenya, Ruto's allies are of the opinion that its an unconstitutional formation seeking to create extra exexutive positions for poll losers.
