The students who attended the function in Magare village, Homabay County chanted slogans, demanding justice for her.

Led by their student leader Evans Baraza, the group surrounded her coffin and prayed for her, and her foetus which was buried earlier, chanting ‘’rest in peace and power’’, reports the Nation.

Slightly over one hundred in number, they cut short Homabay Town Member of Parliament Peter Kaluma who also doubles up as the family lawyer to grieve their colleague's departure.

Kaluma briefly halted the program to allow them carry on, with Baraza calling for stern punitive measures against the perpetrators.

He also condemned Sharon's murder, terming it brutal.

"Sharon did not have to die in such a brutal manner,’’ he is quoted by the Nation.

The body of the mother of three was on Thursday moved from the Med25 Hospital Morgue ahead of Friday’s burial.

She was found lifeless in a thicket near Oyugis Town early last month, after having been reportedly abducted in Rongo, Migori county days prior.

The blame has since landed on Migori Governor Okoth Obado with whom they were in a romantic relationship.

Obado remains remanded over the same, after denying the allegations.
