This is so because recently a Moi University student lost his Sh30,000 meant for school fees after being tricked by these conmen into a designated area before being robbed all the cash and thoroughly beaten.

Alex walking towards Barclay's Bank along Uganda road in Eldoret town, suddenly in front of him, a guy drops a wallet with cash neatly arranged. Then another guy quickly picks it up and seeing that Alex had seen it, he convinces him that he go and share with him in a certain corridor with fewer people passing by.

With the student much convinced, he followed the man and on reaching there, he learned that the man who dropped the wallet was anxiously waiting.

After a little argument, he was told he had stolen the money, harassed and they took all his money.

Another notorious trick these conmen employs is that you find a group of people gathered and in are some men swapping cards and the winners are rewarded with money.

One probably of the same group is asked to pick a card and after picking it, he is told that he has won and is given Sh500, the man swapping cards then asks from the crowd that anybody interested could also come in and be a winner.

Studying the game and wanting these 'free money' you then try your luck and being your first time you are told you have won Sh100.

You are then told to dip in your pocket for you to win more money, my friend these people will swipe those cards and before you realise you are losing all your money will be gone.
