The Spectre International Limited is at the threat of being disposed of after a Mombasa Court allowed a firm it owes Kshs 7.7 million to recover the debt.

Betrik Kenya Limited has since been given the go-ahead to auction the plant to recover the debt accrued after supplying Spectre with fuel three years ago.

Betrik reportedly supplied the company with 14,500 litres costing Kshs 8 million between June and July 18, but Tue firm had only paid up a little portion of the agreed amount.

According to Betrik Kenya lawyer Wameyo Onyango, Spektre has a standing debt of 7.3 million, with the remainder coming about as a result of the agreed interest.

“The total amount payable in respect thereof being Sh8 million, the defendant has made some payments leaving a balance of Sh7.3 million,” he told the Nation.

The plaintiff is complaining of repeated promises to pay up by the company arguing that it has also incurred losses as it used borrowed money to deliver the supply at an interest of 5 per cent.

Spektre has also failed to appear in court since October last year as had been ordered by the court and has been snubbing summons over the issue.
