Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka is a wounded man. He has to rethink about his political cards before he walks naked since he is staring at a dark political future.
Soon, Kalonzo will be like a king who is walking naked if he doesn’t move fast to regain his influence in Ukambani.
Here are the three things Kalonzo must do to remain the Ukambani region's political kingpin:
1. Tame Wiper MCAs
The Wiper leader must handle the ruckus being created by MCAs under his political outfit before 2022 polls.
Ukambani governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) complain that the MCAs have been frustrating them when it comes to service delivery in their respective counties.
Kalonzo cannot afford to remain quiet when the governors are being hurt by the lawmakers under his umbrella.
He is likely to lose their support before time to rise to power comes.
2. Meet the Ukambani governors
Kalonzo must meet the three governors and address their concerns. The three counties make up the entire region. Kalonzo will not have it easy if the rebellion continues to 2022. He has to think of defending them where possible in order to remain the king in Ukambani region.
3. Engage his support base
Kalonzo should also listen to the people of Ukambani. He needs to find out what they think of his leadership. The former Vice President should be very keen on the naysayers than those leaders who keep singing his name all the time.
