A section of Wiper leaders has called on its chairman and Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana to exit office.

Led by Kitui Senator Enock Wambua, and MPs Robert Mbui and Gideon Mulyungi, the leaders said the governor is no longer fit to chair the affairs of the political outfit.

They said time has come for Kibwana to leave the office for an able chairman who can help former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka ascend to power in 2022.

They spoke at a presser held at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday.

“Kibwana has absconded his responsibilities as a chairman of the party. He ought to leave the party and preoccupy himself with his attacks on Kalonzo,” Mbui said.

On his part, Wambua said Kibwana, Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and his Kitui counterpart Charity Ngilu were opposed to the voice of the people of Ukambani.

He warned that the trio will face the music at the right time.

Wambua said the governors' union has nothing to do with transforming the region but fight Kalonzo as he seeks to become the 5th President.

“They are up against the people of Ukambani and they will face the people’s full wrath in the proper order of time,” Wambua said.
