Speaking during a funeral in Wundanyi, agitated Samboja accused Ruto of belittling the county government.

He said that he has not consulted the DP because he believes he has no solution to the problems that have bedevilled the county government.

The governor also said that it was unfortunate for Ruto to say that the idea of dissolving the county government is nonsensical.

He argued that Ruto lacks the understanding of the cause of the stalemate between the MCAs and his government and reminded him that he had contacted President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga over the matter because he believes in them.

“We don’t need his counsel and that is why even when I said we should dissolve the county assembly, I reached out to every other national leader but him. The petition will not land at his desk, so he cannot purport to speak on behalf of the presidency,” Samboja said as quoted by Daily Nation.

DP Ruto who spoke at the Bughuta grounds in Voi on Sunday said that the call to dissolve the county government makes no sense.

He also asked the leaders from Taita Taveta not to disturb the President when they are in a position to resolve the same on their own.

“We cannot dissolve the county government because of differences between leaders. That is nonsense,” Ruto said.
