The duo met when they welcomed visiting President of the Republic of Botswana Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe.

It is unclear whether the two discussed the issue when they meet. Rotich was arrested alongside Kamau Thugge (Treasury Principal Secretary), Jackson Kinyanjui (Treasury Director of resource mobilization) among others.

Uhuru was also accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta when they welcome the visiting head of State. State House has confirmed the arrival of Keabetswe and his wife First Lady Neo Jane Masis.

“President Uhuru Kenyatta and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta receive visiting President of the Republic of Botswana Dr Mokgweetsi Eric Keabetswe Masisi and First Lady Neo Jane Masisi at State House, Nairobi on the second day of his three-day State Visit to Kenya,” State House revealed.

President Uhuru and Keabetswe are expected to address a wide range of issues when they meet.  Some of the issues they are expected to address include trade, investment, tourism, defense, agriculture, education, health, security, and mining.

The meeting comes at a time when President Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in power, has expressed his commitment to achieving the Big Four Agenda.

“The Government's #Big4Agenda is about what the people want and asked for as the President went around the country interacting with Kenyans during the last campaign period. This is why the four pillars address the most pressing needs of Kenyans,” said State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena.
