Former Mandera Senator Billow Kerrow has taken a low political life after bowing out of politics in 2017.

Kerrow was elected senator in the 2013 polls on United Republican Party (URP) ticket.

Kerrow, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, is among veteran Somali politicians in the country.

His silence on politics and issues surrounding the country is, however, raising concerns among his supporters.

The veteran politician did not contest for a political seat in 2017 saying that he had retired.

According to political pundits, Kerrow is among top Somali politicians who will lead DP Ruto’s campaigns in North Eastern in 2022.

Analysts observe that Kerrow has the public appeal and will help the DP Ruto harvest votes in the Northern region.

“He is the people’s leader and among people who will help DP Ruto win votes,” Peter Ngure, a political pundit says.
