Ruto, who presided over a fund drive at Amabuko Secondary school for Kiamirega and Amabuko catholic Churches, said leaders from the Gusii community who have been rallying behind the ODM party leader should change tune.

"Gusii leaders can't continue being in the political cold. It is time leaders should represent the community well by joining the winning camp and abandon the man of many proverbs," said Ruto.

The Deputy President was accompanied by Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, a close ally to Raila, area MP Ezekiel Machogu, South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro among others.

Maangi dismissed Raila Odinga's plans to amend the constitution to create more posts in government in his favor.

"The referendum should not burden Kenyans by creating more posts in government in favor of Raila," he said.

MP Osoro called on those pushing for the referendum to put the interests of Kenyans at heart by reducing the wage bill.

"Kenyans are over represented and the referendum must reduce the political seats," he stated.
