Paul Njoroge lost his family alongside the mother-in-law following the tragic incident on March 10. The man said that he was not going to pick soil from the scene of the incident for burial.

Njoroge’s wife, Caroline Nduta Karanja met her untimely death alongside her mother, Mrs Ann Wangui Karanja. Her three sons, whose identities have not been disclosed, also died following the crash that killed 157.

Njoroge, who spoke on Wednesday at his father-in-law Quindos Karanja’s home in Kabatini, Nakuru County, said that he has accepted the loss of his kin.

He also said he wants to allow his friends and relatives to continue with their normal lives as they wait for DNA results from the Ethiopian authorities.

According to the man, it is against his faith to bury soil following the death of his family. He said he will only hold prayer in commemoration of the deceased.

He, however, said that the duration the government has asked the victims to wait before the release of the DNA results is too long.

He said that accepting death is not easy but he has no choice

“It is too painful, but I guess there is nothing much I can do,” he said, as Daily Nation quoted him.
