Speaking to journalists in Nairobi on Thursday, the businessman said that he will not sit and see all his investment to go to waste.

He said that the building does not sit on a road reserve as the government claims.

Gorasia stated that the push to demolish the building is politically motivated, adding that he will push for compensation at all costs.

“We are going to fight back through the courts for compensation if not for me but for my generation,” he said.

The former Nairobi senatorial aspirant said that he toiled to put up the 5.5 Billion building.

He said that he bought the land in 1991 and set up the building that was approved by the government.

The businessman said that God will judge those behind the demolition.

The mall is among buildings set for demolition in the city as the government seeks to save riparian land.

According to the multi-agency team leading the demolitions, the mall sits on a road reserve.

The agency has since issued a notice to tenants to vacate the building ahead of demolition.

Tenants have up to August 30 to vacate the building.
