Kisiang'ani says the ODM boss will refuse to join the race to the State House for fear of being defeated by Deputy President William Ruto.

The university don, however, said it will be 'miraculous' for Raila, who has vied for the presidency four times, to withdraw himself from the 2022 contest.

"If for some miraculous reason Raila refuses to vie for President in 2022, it will be because of the overwhelming fear in him that he would lose the elections to DP Ruto," Kisiang'ani tweeted on Sunday.

Political analysts have been opining that the next presidential poll will be a two-horse race between Ruto and Raila, with the DP daring the former Prime Minister to announce he will accept defeat.

“I have heard that he has announced that he wants to compete with me in 2022. I do not have a problem competing with him, but he must first tell and assure Kenyans that in case of a defeat, he will accept the decision of the Kenyan voters,” Ruto said recently as quoted by the Citizen Digital.

According to Kisiang'ani, if the duo will go head-to-head against each other, the DP will emerge victoriously and take over power from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"Please don't abuse me for saying that Ruto will win the 2022 elections. I have analysed the chances of Ruto and Raila scientifically. Figures don't lie. Just ask yourselves; how many former provinces would go to Raila and how many to Ruto? Be honest with yourselves," the university lecturer stated.
