Kenyans on social media have given their views after the Director of Public Prosecutions Noordin Haji ordered for the immediate arrest of Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko.
In a press conference in Nairobi on Friday morning, Haji noted that Sonko and other county officials should be arrested and arraigned over misuse of government and Nairobi county government money.
''In short like I said we have found after investigation and a file brought to me, we have checked it and seen that there is enough evidence to open a case for Nairobi County Governor and others for misuse of government money and that of the county government of Nairobi. (Kwa ufupi nlivyosema ni kwamba tumepata baada ya uchunguzi na file kuletwa kwangu, tumeiangalia na tumeona kwamba kuna ushahidi wa kutosha kumfungulia mashtaka governor wa Nairobi na wenzake kwa kufuja pesa za serikali na county government ya Nairobi. Kwa ivo nimetoa idhini wakamatwe na waletwe mara moja kortini,’’ he said.
Kenyans reacted differently to this order.
While some noted that they had foreseen this coming, others said that Sonko might not allow them to arrest him.
