Speaking during the disbursement of the funds where a total of 27 groups benefited from the fund, Maangi urged farmers to utilize the funds for their own benefit.

"Farmers should use the funds appropriately for the purpose of boosting dairy farming. I am happy farmers have come together and forming producer groups in the dairy sector to increase productivity and incomes," he said.

He said group officials found to misuse the funds will be dealt with as by the law.

"Group leaders must ensure that the grants contribute to the expansion of their business activities, more employment opportunities, and improved access to quality animal feeds, value-added products and better marketing for farmers' products and better marketing for farmers' produce. Funds embezzlement can't be condoned," he noted.

He tasked the County Executive Committee member in charge of Agriculture Esman Onsarigo to ensure the dairy farmers benefit from the funds.
