On June 21, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) celebrated its 33rd graduation ceremony where a total of 3, 545 graduands were released from the university.

Out of this, 118 graduated with doctorate degrees from the institution.

Surprisingly, it is alleged that Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu is among those who graduated with a PhD from JKUAT.

Blogger Albert Nyakundi Amenya alias the Banana Peddler in his weekly show on Facebook asserted that Waititu was among 118 PhD graduands.

"Are you aware that Baba Yao, Ferdinand Waititu is now a Professor?" he asked political analyst Onyango Ochieng Junior who was his co-host.

"I want to tell you Kenyans, you better start respecting Baba Yao from now. Whether you like it or not, he is a doctor (yeye ni doctor)," he added.

Waititu holds a degree in Commerce from Siri Guru College in Punjab, India. He graduated from the institution back in 1991.

In the run-up to the 2017 general elections, his then political rival, William Kabogo questioned the legitimacy of his degree, alleging that Waititu never attended Punjab University where he (Kabogo) schooled.
