The alleged plot assassinate Deputy President William Ruto has continued to elicit mixed reactions from different quarters.
According to Kiambu Woman Rep Gathoni Wamuchomba, the claims that four Cabinet Secretaries met to hack a plan to eliminate the second in command are baseless.
Wamuchomba has insisted that she was presented when President Uhuru Kenyatta asked the CS’s to meet on matters of development. She dismissed claims that the members of the cabinet were planning something sinister.
The four are Peter Munya (Trade), Cecilly Kariuki (Health), James Macharia (Transport) and Joe Mucheru (ICT).
“I was in Nyeri when the President met leaders from central Kenya. He tasked CS Munya to spearhead coordination initiatives with area leaders on development projects since it was felt we had no access to the Government," said Ms Wamuchomba, as quoted by Standard.
While responding to the allegations of the plan to end the life of the DP, Munya said that the CSs had no such plans.
He insisted that they will continue to work with the DP before President Kenyatta completes his second and final term in power.
Munya also said that the allegations are unfortunate, adding that there is no reasons to cause alarm.
The leaders allied to Deputy President have vowed to impeach the CSs over the matter.
