Samuel Macharia is alleged to have exhumed the bodies of his wife, son and mother in an attempt to clean up the land so as to lease it to quarry miners.

Macharia, however, claimed that he decided to take action into his own hands after a delayed court order and the high cost of professionals who exhume bodies. He had, however, planned to bury the bodies in another piece of land.

“I have been o the law courts, the police station and public health offices but I got tired of waiting and decided to exhume and relocate the bodies of another grave,” Macharia said in his defense.

Rebecca Wambui, the niece to the suspect, said that the exhumation of the bodies took place at night stating that the empty graves had already been flattened in the morning before police intervened.

Some of the residents of Kinamba area confirmed that this was not the first time such an incident was being witnessed.

Naivasha OCPD Samuel Waweru confirmed the incident to Citizen TV via phone and added that the remains of the bodies were moved to Naivasha mortuary.
