Football fans in Kisumu have a lifetime opportunity of coming face to face with Brazilian football legend Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, commonly known as Ronaldinho Gaucho.

Gaucho will lead a soccer clinic at the Moi Stadium on Saturday, November 10, 2018, starting at 11 am.

“Join the legendary Brazilian Soccer Superstar Ronaldinho in a football clinic with Kisumu All-Stars as they play Bondo United on 10th November 2018 at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu,” tweeted Kisumu County government.

“What a way to kick off our preseason? Welcome to the Great county of Kisumu football icon Ronaldinho Gaúcho,” Kisumu All Stars posted on their official Facebook page.

All-Stars will use the clinic as part of preparations ahead of the new National Super League (NSL) season which kicks off early next month.

Gaucho is considered the most skilful player to have ever stepped on a football pitch. In his heydays, he was a formidable free kick taker and blessed with the ability to go past more than one defender at ago with much ease.

He played mostly as an attacking midfielder but was also deployed as a forward or a winger. The Brazilian played the bulk of his career at European clubs Paris Saint-Germain in France, Barcelona in Spain and AC Milan in Italy as well as playing for the Brazilian national team.

He played over 440 matches for Barcelona, PSG, AC Milan and a host of Clubs in Brazil, and scored over 160 goals.

He donned the legendary Brazilian jersey more than 90 times and scored more than 30 goals.

Gaucho was in the Brazilian squad that won the FIFA World in Korea and Japan in 2002.

He was FIFA World Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005 and won the FIFA Ballon d'Or in 2005.

The now-retired Gaucho is betting firm Betika’s brand ambassador.
