The senators are accusing the National Assembly of unprocedural passing 24 laws.

In a tweet on Thursday, lawyer Ahmednassir slammed Speaker Justin Muturi said that Parliament has strayed under his leadership.

"When you see the SENATE litigating its core mandate in courts then you realize how ROGUE parliament has become under the CALAMITOUS leadership of speaker Justin Muturi...doesn't he personify the toxic mix of IMPUNITY and GROSS INCOMPETENCE in 30:70 proportions?" he said.

In their petition, Senate Speaker Kenneth Lusaka, Majority and Minority Leaders of the Senate Kipchumba Murkomen and James Orengo are listed as the petitioners.

The National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and the National Assembly members are the respondents while the Council of Governors (CoG) and the Attorney-General (AG) are listed as interested parties.

The senators accused MPs of passing the laws touching on devolution yet did not consult the Senate on the same.

This petition has been forwarded to Chief Justice David Maraga who will come up with a bench of judges to listen to the petition.
