Witnesses said the trouble started when Isaac Nyangweso, refused to give a portion of land to his son, Paul Riogi.

“Riogi married in December last year and he has been demanding to be given a portion of the land to cultivate. His father refused to allocate him the land prompting the fight,” said Jane Nyaboke.

Nyaboke stated that the neighbors intervened and stopped the two from fighting.

According to Nyaboke Riogi wanted to kill his father but area chief Erick Nyayo said land disagreement among families is on the rise in the village.

“I wish to call upon fathers to ensure their married sons are allocated land to cultivate to curb unnecessary attacks over land inheritance,” he said.

He said Nyangweso sustained head and hand injuries and he was rushed to Riana level 4 hospital for treatment.

The administrator warned young people against beating their aged parents.
