With hours away to the World Cup final match between France and Croatia in Russia, Machakos soccer fanatics are siding with Croatia to win the trophy.
The fanatics and soccer gamblers are betting on Croatia to beat France.
According to the soccer fanatics, Croatia's resilience and hard work throughout the tournament is the reason why they are rallying behind the team to win.
"Croatia is our bet and we are confident that they will be crowned winners," Joseph Mutie said.
Mutie said that Croatia's stlye of play is appealing compared to France.
"Though the majority of France players have their origin in Africa, their football is boring," he added.
" I have placed a bet on Croatia to beat France and I am confident they will win," Alex Muthini, a soccer fan said.
Muthini said that Croatia's style of playing outsmarts France "100 percent."
The soccer fanatics also say that they are rallying Croatia to win because they stood with Kenya when Alshabaab militants attacked and killed 147 students at the Garissa University in 2015.
"They (Croatia) stood with us when everyone else was issuing travel advisories when the attack happened and to repay them, we will pray for them to beat France today," another soccer fan from Machakos said.
The one-month World Cup bonanza is coming to an end today.
Twenty Kenyan MPs are among thousands of soccer fans who will watch the finals live at the Lushniki Arena stadium.
Croatia beat England to reach the finals while France beat Belgium to also reach the finals.
Millions of people across the world are following the world cup finals.
