There was a bizarre incident at Zion Mall in Eldoret town on Friday after a live snake came out of a private car that was parked in front of the mall.
The owner of the vehicle ran away as bodaboda riders tried to kill the serpent that visibly furious with its attackers.
According to John Kirwa, one of the witnesses, the snake came out of the vehicle that was parked at Zion mall and was trying to escape.
“We were saddened to see a purple snake dropping from the boot of the vehicle. The snake was two meters long. We tried to look for ways to kill it but it took us one hour to kill the serpent," said Kirwa.
The incident led to a traffic snarl-up along Eldoret Nakuru Highway where everyone wanted to get a glimpse of what was happening.
“We suspect that the person was a witch, for heaven's sake, how can a normal person carry with him a snake if he is not a witch? Since I was born, I have never witnessed such," Kirwa added.
The owner of the vehicle where the snake came from went missing.
