Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior says Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is the solemnly recognized Kamba political kingpin.
Kilonzo Junior said other politicians who claim to be speaking on behalf of the Kamba nation are just playing petty politics.
Speaking on Milele FM ‘Kivumbi’ show on Wednesday morning, the Wiper senator rubbished claims that Kalonzo is no longer the Ukambani region's spokesperson.
He said the former Vice President's absence in active politics does not mean that he is not the Kamba political kingpin.
“We recognize Kalonzo as the Kamba political kingpin and anyone else claiming that title is a political joker,” Kilonzo Junior said.
The Senator added that Kalonzo is the ordained Kamba presidential candidate in 2022 elections.
“Kalonzo is our presidential candidate in 2022 and we will push for him to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta when the time comes,” he said.
Kilonzo Junior urged Ukambani leaders to unite and rally behind Kalonzo's 2022 presidential bid.
He said the Wiper leader is experienced enough to take over the country’s top leadership in the next polls.
Kalonzo is among the top politicians who have declared their interests in the presidency ahead of 2022 elections.
