Mr Obado, a staunch church elder, spent 34 days in prison over the alleged murder of his girlfriend Sharon Otieno in September.

And just after securing Sh5 million bond, Obado was arrested on Wednesday after detectives recovered eight firearms from his Nairobi and Migori homes.

"It's a pity. He is in deep trouble and the law must be respected at all times no matter who you are. He will have to explain about the firearms," said criminal lawyer Wilkins Ochoki in Nyamira WhatsApp group.

Jane Mumbo said: "Let his friend William Ruto help him. They are good friends but the law must be respected all the time. This is not a banana republic."

But some dared him to drag Raila Odinga to his woes following his weekend crocodile remarks that elicited tension between him and ODM leaders.

"Certainly, he will get again find it appropriate to drag Raila. He might even say that the guns were planted at his two homes," said Dennis Marube, an ODM youth leader.

EACC raided Obado's Migori and Nairobi homes over alleged loss of Sh2 billion from the county and in the Tuesday's process, detectives recovered the guns and crucial documents.

On Saturday, Obado hosted Deputy President William Ruto at Migori before accompanying him to fund raisers in Kisii.
