Political analyst Dennis Anyonka now says that all is not well between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Rut,  if the latest demonstration is anything to go by.

The two on Monday met at Moi Sports Center Kasarani in Nairobi for an Akorino religious function, which culminated in Uhuru attacking a section of Jubilee MPs for disrespecting him.

But Anyonka observes that the small breach of protocol at the function is proof that the two either never communicated before the function, or one was not meant to be there.

He noted that Uhuru arrived before Ruto, yet it should be the other way round, proof that the two leaders are not reading from the same page as was the case before.

"Ukiangalia the entire scenario kulikuwa na breach of protocol kwa sababu Ruto alikuja wakati Uhuru amefika na akakaa. Hii inaonyesha kuna shida ya communication katika nyumba ya Jubilee," he said on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha, Monday morning.

This translates to " Looking at the enture scenario there was a breach of protocol as Ruto came after Uhuru had arrived and sat. His shows that there are communication problems in the Jubilee house."

He added that this could be proof that Ruto raided the function without prior invitation, as otherwise, its always the president who arrives last before such functions kick off.

"Tunaweza kusema DP hakuwa amealikwa (We can say the DP was not invited)," he added.

The two have been seen to drift further apart since Uhuru's 2017 reelection, a situation that has been blamed on Uhuru's dalliance with Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) boss Raila Odinga.

Uhuru had also been non committal on endorsing Ruto's 2022 presidential bid as he had promised before, while the DP's camp has continued engaging in early politicking despite Uhuru's warnings.
