The International Youth Day at Kisii School on Sunday saw President Uhuru Kenyatta facing toughest questions in his spell as Head of State when he faced thousands of youths in a face to face exercise.

With youths getting chances to openly share and question the president on his various government policies, one lady may have carried the day when he left the president pondering hard after some tough questions.

Ms Irene Mayaka, a former charlady for defunct lobby group called 'Daughters of Raila', could not spare the Presidential appointments to Foreign Missions and other government parastatals.

Armed with a list of recent appointments, Ms. Mayaka demanded to know why retirees and certain people who have worked in civil service, and , or political rejects are usually preferred by the president for ambassadorial appointments.

Uhuru, who seemed not to have been expecting the question, would occasionally wipe his face as he tried to come up with a justifiable response to the young lady.

Eventually, the president skipped the question as a number of youths murmured over the president's decision to skip the genuine question. He would later leave as local social media users took him head-on.

"My question was asked in good faith. We have all seen him appointing retired people to job opportunities even with escalating number of unemployed youths.

"I am not bitter because even though he never answered, I believe he will do so some day. We need answers to such critical information, she said when asked by the reporter.

At Nyamira, Ms. Nyakerario is fighting to keep her position in the assembly as representative of the ODM party, gender, after the court had her reinstated before her opponent, Dmaaris Mouni, moved to appeals court.

She is among the lead campaigners of Raila Odinga in Nyanza, who is also closely associated with appointments done by President Uhuru Kenyatta in the spirit of handshake.
