In photos posted on her Twitter account, Gedi said the relief food was part of her distribution programme during the Holy Month of Ramadhan.

"As part of my food distribution program for the month of Ramadhan, I released an assortment of food supplies to needy families in Leheley town," she said.

The first term MP added: "Profound gratitude to Governor @HassanAliJoho for helping me with this remarkable initiative. It’s our duty to help families with needs."

Mrs Gedi came into limelight last year in September when a sex tape allegedly of her and unknown man surfaced on social media. However, she dismissed the tape as malicious propaganda.

In her complaint to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the MP has implicated MPs Adan Keynan (Eldas), Abdihakim Osman (Fafi), Purity Wangui (Kirinyaga County Woman Representative) and her Isiolo colleague Rehema Jaldesa for allgedly defaming her by circulating the video that she termed fake, which depicted her in a sexual mood.

But this year, Parliamentary Powers and Privilege Committee found her culpable of soliciting information from members of the staff which is not meant for public consumption. She used the information to sue the MPs.

“Parliamentary investigations were undertaken and identified the member of staff, who said that the information was asked by Ms Gedi,” Mr Peter Mwathi, a member of the committee said in the presence of the four MPs who appeared before the committee to interrogate Ms Gedi.
