Sonko said the Wiper leader has what it takes to succeed President  Uhuru Kenyatta when the latter completes his second and final term in office.

He stated that Kalonzo will be the best President if given the chance to rise to the helm of this nation’s leadership when that time comes.

He spoke during the Ukambani Leaders Convention, dubbed Komarock II, at Kiamba primary school in Matungulu, Machakos County on Friday.

“I understand the President more than anyone else around here, you can call me the errand boy of the President. As it concerns the handshake pact, I know very well that Musyoka is in the front-line. We will rally behind you (Musyoka),” he said.

Sonko said he is not interested in contesting for the Presidency but will be standing with Kalonzo to ensure that his dream comes true.

The endorsement comes at a time when Kalonzo is facing a political rebellion in Ukambani.

Governors Alfred Mutua (Machakos), Kivutha Kibwana(Makueni) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) have been asking Kalonzo to hang his political boots arguing that his time is up.

Kalonzo’s allies, however, have a different school of thoughts over his presidency.
