National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has come out to defend President Uhuru Kenyatta after a section of Jubilee leaders spoke against their leader.

Speaking during an interview on Thursday morning to Capital FM, Duale said Jubilee leaders should respect the presidency and President Uhuru as an institution.

The Garissa Township MP said that the president will not be cowed by sideshows adding that the Jubilee Party will discuss the conduct of errant members speaking against the President.

Duale urged the leaders to respect each other and focus on development because that is the agenda of President Uhuru and Deputy President William Ruto.

He further urged the politicians to shun divisive politics and work together in serving Kenyans and ensuring the government delivers its big four agenda.

“I really want to ask Jubilee leaders who want to reduce the President and his deputy to their community and their regions that it is against the principles of the Jubilee Party in which we formed after collapsing a number of the regional and tribal parties that propelled us to government in 2013. I am in consultation with the Secretary General of the Party, I am a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC), and as a party we plan to discuss the conduct of those errant members or officials who want to disparage the President and his deputy,” Duale told Capital FM.

A section of Jubilee leaders led by Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria had insisted that President Uhuru had forgotten the region and instead was focusing on developing other areas in the country.
