Both leaders were spotted at the Riverside terror attack scene on Tuesday, both brandishing their weapons in two different occasions.

In an interview on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show Saturday morning, Mwaura termed the two as slay kings out for unnecessary publicity.

"Waache cheap publicity. Hawa ni slay kings wanaotafuta sifa kwa njia isiyofaa (they should shun cheap publicity. They are slay kings using wrong avenues to earn popularity)," he said.

The Jubilee Senator wondered why none of them joined the rescue team in saving fellow  Kenyans trapped in the siege mounted by Alshabaab militants.

"Iweje wanaenda pale na bunduki ilhali hawafanyi chochote kusaidia wakenya wenzao (them being there and not engaging in any rescue activity is proof that they were out for publicity)," he added.

Mbogo was spotted with an automatic riffle, desert soldier boots and a bulletproof vest but was ironically comfortably standing by alongside a colleague.

The Governor toured the scene with his pistol  peeping from one of his jacket pocket.

Mbogo was later questioned over his weaponry.

21 people have been confirmed to have lost their lives in the siege that was neutralized by the elite Recce squad on Wednesday dawn.
