Gor Mahia will host Sportpesa Cup Champions Kariobangi Sharks at Kisumu’s Moi Stadium on Saturday, in a match that promises to spark a lot of fireworks.

It will be the first match for Gor Mahia to play in Kisumu this year. But before then, Gor Mahia will play against Zoo Kericho, in Kericho on Wednesday.

“We will be in Kericho on Wednesday as scheduled and our plans are, we head straight to Kisumu after the match for our weekend’s fixture but we are yet to finalize on our logistics; whether to go to Kisumu straight or on Friday,” Gor Mahia Treasurer Sally Bolo told the Club’s website.

“It’s been a while since Gor Mahia played in Kisumu and as an office; we have decided to take the match to the fans based around there. Let them come out in good numbers to support the team,” he added.

It will be the sixth league meeting between Gor Mahia and Kariobangi Sharks. The defending Champions have won four out of the past five encounters, with Sharks winning only one on December 29, last year.

Gor Mahia is third on the KPL log with 32 points after 15 matches, while Sharks are 5th with 29 points after 17 matches.

Shortly before the Gor Mahia match on Saturday, Kisumu All Starlets will host Kibera Girls Soccer Academy in a women premier league match (WPL) at the Moi Stadium.
