Police have nabbed Sh100,000 street value worth bhang in Kangundo, Machakos County.
The detectives seized the consignment and arrested two suspects at Matetani village on Sunday evening.
Confirming the incident, Kangundo police boss Benjamin Ong'ombe said the suspects, a couple were arrested by officers on duty following a tip-off.
Ong'ombe said the officers were tipped-off by students.
"The officers were forced to masquerade as customers to nab the two who operate from their home, they admitted to having been doing the business for two years," Ong'ombe said.
He disclosed that the suspects tried to bribe the officers who arrested them.
Ong'ombe said the crackdown on drugs and the illicit brew is still on and anyone found culpable won't be spared by the law.
He urged the community to join in the fight against crime by reporting such cases to the police.
"We can't be everywhere, the public should help us ensure security and smoke out criminals who are in their midst. Those going on with the business should find something else to do because we are coming for them," he said.
The duo identified as Francis Kyalo and Ann Nzisa will be arraigned in court today.
