The strength of these named midfielders might determine the fate of the Kenyan football team besides the foreign-based players like Wanyama.

Francis Kahata

The Gor Mahia midfielders is always the glowing splint in KPL. One can say he is Ozil, Carzola and Pogba Combined. His passing and hawkeye can be compared to Ozil.

His speed and footwork can be compared to Carzola and his strength can be compared to Paul Pogba of the French national team. His skills when behind the ball will probably determine the number of chances that the strikers would get to put the ball behind the net.

Humphrey Ochieng' Mieno

The former KCB, Tusker and Gor Mahia midfielder now plays for St George's of Ethiopia. He has strength and confidence in manning the midfield. His Alexandre Song like flick passes are good when he gets a steady striker. Such passes can break even the best defences in the continent.

Anthony Akumu

Akumu is the MYSA graduate and played for Gor Mahia before moving to Zambia. Akumu uses both mind and strength in manning the midfield. He would be helpful in interfering with opponents attacking moves.

Kevin Kimani

This could be a surprise name on this list. Kimani was once named the best player of the Kenyan Premier League. He formally played for KCB before moving to Mathare United, where he won the award.

He's is now back to Mathare United after ditching Sofapaka in the last transfer period. He is just like Francis Kahata. He is a dead ball specialist as well. His inclusion in the Afcon squad would help so much.

Cliff Nyakeya

The Gor graduate and current Mathare United midfielder has what it takes to shine in any game. His scoring ability when he sees the net goes undoubted.

The player was voted the best in midfielder of the year in the last campaign and he is still glittering for the Francis Kimanzi couched club. Nyakeya would be a threat when it comes to box-box playing.

Whyvone Isuza

Isuza plays for the fierce Cats AFC Leopards. He is also a former Mathare United player. Isuza's work-rate on the pitch is always convincing.

The player can shift weight as far as attacking and defending is concerned. His presence could help Harambee Stars.
