In a little publicised tour, Deputy President William Ruto landed silently at Suneka airstrip in Kisii on Thursday evening for an event at Suneka.

Mr. Ruto, who had postponed his scheduled trip to Amabuko along Kisii- Nyamira border from Thursday to Friday, had attended a cabinet meeting in the morning.

"Cabinet has approved regulations that will guide the implementation of the affordable housing programme, including financing, cost and design of the units to ensure quality and durability. 

"County governments should streamline the process so that we can provide decent housing to our people and create jobs during the construction phase.At Suneka, Kisii County," he wrote.

A source at Harambee Annex intimates that local leaders were notified about the Suneka trip, which he'd opted to assign someone, minutes to midday.

Governor James Ongwae, DG Joash Maangi, MPs Oroo oyioka, Sylvanus Osoro and Richard Onyonka welcomed the DP.

Mr. Ruto has intensified his campaigns across Kisii and Nyamira, making a total of six since June this year. The region has an approximated population of one million votes.

On Friday, Ruto will camp at Amabuko along Kisii-Nyamira boarder. He will first appear on live interview with Egesa FM, a Royal Media owned station that broadcasts in local dialect across the two counties.
