President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday evening landed in Kisumu county.
He was welcomed by area Governor Anyang' Nyong'o at the Kisumu International Airport.
The Head of State made a stop over ahead of the Mashujaa Day Celebrations set for Kakamega County on Saturday.
"This evening I received President Uhuru Kenyatta at Kisumu International Airport ahead of tomorrow’s Mashujaa Day celebrations to held at Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega county.
" Karibu Kisumu County Rais,” Prof. Nyong’o was quoted by the Citizen Digital.
Uhuru who was accompanied by his spouse and First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.
The last time the President toured the region was in the run-up to the August 8 polls.
He crisscrossed the region alongside his deputy William Ruto to drum up support for their reelection.
The President is also yet to honor his promise to jointly tour the region with opposition leader Raila Odinga after their March 9 truce.
