A section of Ukambani leaders has continued to poke holes into the deal struck between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Led by Wiper chairman Kivutha Kibwana, the leaders said the deal doesn’t seem to benefit the Ukambani residents.

The leaders want Kalonzo to come clean on the fruits they could reap from his union with President Uhuru.

In a statement released to the newsrooms, Kibwana said that Uhuru is committed to the big four agenda and nothing else.

"The President has focused the country on the Big Four agenda. To what extent have regional political leaders helped the southeastern people access national development?"  Prof Kibwana said in a statement.

Kibwana said Kalonzo was not prepared to meet President Uhuru Kenyatta.

While addressing residents during a Kamba cultural festival at Nguni Primary School in Kitui County on Friday, Kalonzo said he had decided to work with President Kenyatta to ensure that the fight against corruption becomes successful.

He said the union between him and Uhuru will benefit the Ukambani residents.

Kalonzo and Uhuru vowed to work together to ensure development across Ukambani and other regions of the nation.

Kitui Senator Enock Wambua and MP Gideon Mulyungi (Mwingi Central) have, however, defended Kalonzo’s move to work with Uhuru.
